Seven-odd hours of movies, arcade games, flight simulators, and food-court dosas, wrapped inside one of the older, more central malls in the city — walking distance from MG Road and Brigade Road. Here's everything I wish someone had told me before my first visit.

Not the biggest mall in the city — and that's kind of the point
If you're coming from Phoenix Mall of Asia or Orion, temper your expectations on scale: Garuda Mall is smaller, older, and doesn't try to be a destination in itself. What it has going for it is location — it sits right on Magrath Road in Ashok Nagar, a few minutes' walk from MG Road and Brigade Road, which means you can fold a couple of hours here into a bigger day out without detouring across the city.
The building is multi-level with parking basements below and around six main floors above — shops and the food court on the lower levels, the cinema and most of the entertainment zones clustered on the 4th floor, and a trampoline park up on the 6th. Think of it less as a shopping destination and more as a reliable, air-conditioned pit stop between Commercial Street haggling and a Brigade Road dinner.
Floor counts vary a bit across listings — some older write-ups cite higher numbers tied to a since-resolved building dispute. The description above reflects the mall's current, commonly listed layout; worth a quick glance at signage on arrival if it matters for your plans.
Logistics
Getting there from the city center
By metro (recommended): Take the Purple Line to MG Road station — it's the closest stop, roughly a 15-minute walk from there down Brigade Road onto Magrath Road. This is the least stressful option during evening traffic.
By auto or cab: From Bangalore City Railway Station it's about 7 km, usually 25–35 minutes depending on traffic. From Kempegowda International Airport it's a longer haul — around 35 km, budget 60–90 minutes, more during peak hours.
Driving yourself: There's basement parking across two levels. It fills up fast on weekend evenings, so if you're driving, aim to arrive before 6 PM or be ready to circle for a spot.
Best time to go
- Weekday, 11 AM–1 PM: The quietest window by far — you'll have the food court and arcade practically to yourself.
- Avoid: Saturday evenings after 6 PM, especially near a big movie release — the INOX queue and parking both back up.
- Monsoon note: Being fully indoors, this is a solid rainy-day plan when outdoor Bengaluru sightseeing is out.

What's actually worth your time, floor by floor
Catch a film at INOX
Five screens and around 1,150 seats make this one of the better-established multiplexes in central Bengaluru. It's not the cheapest ticket in town — expect to pay somewhat more here than at a suburban multiplex — but the recliners and sound system make it worth it for a big-screen release. Book ahead online for weekend evening shows; walk-up tickets on a Saturday night are a gamble.
Fly a Boeing (virtually) at Flight 4 Fantasy
This is the one that surprises people. Flight 4 Fantasy is a flight-simulation zone where you sit in a real cockpit replica and "fly" a Boeing 737 or a fighter jet for about 15 minutes, guided by an instructor — no flying experience required. It's a genuinely memorable half-hour if you've got a curious kid (or adult) in tow. Sessions are limited, so reserve ahead rather than turning up and hoping.
Rack up tickets at Amoeba
An old-school arcade in the best sense — basketball shootouts, air hockey, claw machines, and a "Deal or No Deal" style ticket game where you cash in your winnings for prizes at the counter. It runs on a top-up card or token system rather than a flat entry fee, so your spend depends entirely on how competitive you're feeling.
Bounce around at SkyJumper
A full trampoline and amusement park up on the 6th floor — interconnected jump zones, foam pits, dodgeball courts, laser tag, and a couple of VR attractions. It's aimed at families and groups (birthday parties and school trips are a big part of its business), but it's open to anyone and makes for a genuinely active break from walking mall corridors. Grip socks are mandatory and usually included in the ticket; booking ahead is recommended on weekends.
Shop the fashion and lifestyle floors
The lower floors hold the bulk of the retail — a mix of fashion, footwear, and lifestyle stores. It's the kind of mall where you'll comfortably find a gift or a last-minute outfit without needing a plan, even if it won't rival the flagship stores at a newer mall.
Refuel at the food court
Close to twenty food counters cover the usual mall spread — South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, and a few standalone cafés and quick-bite counters for when you just want a coffee and something sweet between errands. It's functional rather than exciting, but it does the job, especially if your group can't agree on cuisine.

The tenant mix leans toward familiar mid-to-premium fashion and lifestyle names rather than luxury flagships — think department-store anchors alongside sportswear and accessories, plus salons and a few specialty shops tucked between them. It's worth knowing going in: this isn't the mall for a designer splurge, but it's dependable for everyday fashion, gifting, and a browse if you're already in the area. One point of local trivia — the mall is home to one of the city's older Shoppers Stop branches, which gives that particular outlet a slightly different, more classic layout than the newer format stores elsewhere in Bengaluru.
